WHAT IS A LIST SERV & WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN?
An e-mail listserv is a very efficient and convenient way of sharing information. Instead of having to dial numerous people, as with a phone tree, one e-mail can reach everyone instantly. If you agree to retrieve links to the newsletter through e-mail, we can reduce costly printing and postage fees. The listserv is particularly useful when dealing with schedule changes, or other time sensitive announcements. We also try to post opportunities on the list serv, so our members are readily informed of current events. The email list serv can also provide folks with direct links to web pages, and we can do quick and accurate surveys of county needs and interests. The list serv can also be used as a community bulletin board, for posting important events, or as a link to discussion groups. In responding to a list serv announcement, you can either respond to the individual who wrote the email by hitting "reply" or you can respond for everyone by clicking on "reply to all." You can also post messages to the listserve by writing the name of the list serv in the address bar.
To join a lyris email list, send an email to:

(where LISTNAME is the name of the list, and Your Real Name is your
real name, not email address.)
